I Pledge Allegiance To The Earth And To The Flora, Fauna And Life That It Supports, One Planet Indivisible, With Safe Air, Water & Soil, Economic Justice, Equal Rights, Secure Shelter, Ample Nourishment And Lasting Peace For All.

After viewing Al Gores "An Inconvenient Truth"
for the first time in it's entirety, I'm left with
the uneasy feeling that we've tipped over the top.

That there can now be no turning back.
That even if we were to stop all green house
gases and all atmospheric pollution immediately,
We have passed the tipping point and therefore,
the polar ice masses will continue to melt and the
oceans will warm and we'll shortly be confronted
with all the ensuant consequences of our neglect.

However, What if Al is Wrong?
What if the science is wrong?
What if these are all cyclical occurrences
over which we really have no control?

Can we be righteous and breath a sigh of relief?
Or, are we simply doomed to settle in and
watch the end of our civilization?

For the sake of my family and myself,
I feel I have no choice but to continue
visualizing positive outcomes in my life
and that of our planet...for now.

So...we're waiting for a hammer to fall.
Yes, there are those who feel "this is it"
Time for the terrible truth...the true colors
of our intrepid leaders are about to manifest.

This election night eve, I prefer to revel in
the endless sensuality of nature at its
grandest.

Oh, I will vote..no doubt. To express
my civic duty...to partake in this, perhaps,
meaningless exercise.

Chocolate or vanila, white or black,
In or out...indeed, Everything or nothing.

Lonely Beauty

The audacity of nature...to be so perfect...and occasionally, whimsical.
Yes, the planet changes, inexorably...so what? We only have now for now.
We look, we experience...we take it all in...for now.
Soon, we'll realize we have...eternity!
